RV Industry expecting its 3rd best RV sales this year: Matt Rose, director of recreation vehicles for the Indiana Manufactured Housing Association and Recreation Vehicle Indiana Council reports “Business is strong, and we anticipate it staying strong and we’re very optimistic heading into 2019”. Richard Curtin, a professor at the University of Michigan’s Survey Research Center, who also is a longtime RV industry analyst, has projected its 2019 shipments will once again exceed the 2016 level. Projected units to be shipped this year: 453,200; put that in perspective to 2009 where only 165,700 units were shipped. This year’s estimate is projected lower than last year, but still ranks in the top 3.

House approves Scenic Byways Bill: Reviving Americas Scenic Byways Act of 2019 passed 404-19. It has been received in the Senate and read twice, then referred to the Committee on Environment and Public Works. Essentially, this is seeking funding to support byways infrastructure and signage (think Route 66, Blue Ridge Parkway, Skyline Drive etc). Relative to RVers who often seek out these travel routes.

Escapees announces 2020 Escapade location in Rock Springs, Wyoming in June. Registration will open Fall 2019. There is still time to sign up for this year’s Escapade in Tucson (March 17-22)! Escapade is Escapees national rally and is the largest Escapees gathering each year. Seminars, social gatherings, on-site professionals, experienced RVers and nightly entertainment.
