THE ROADS CHRONICLE – A Traveler’s Diary [March 4, 2020]

Wedding activities have begun!

It’s strange, it has been just over a year since we have seen our son in person. Technology nowadays makes it so much easier to keep in touch with people that it didn’t feel like it had been that long. That is, until I got our boy in my arms and gave him a big hug 🙂

I’m proud of Brett and Jessica, they have planned this wedding in a relatively quick amount of time and did it all themselves. I am usually the person planning events so it seems odd to be on this end…I could get use to this!

Brett had to work today so we just got to see him a little bit at lunch and after work for dinner. In between, I was able to go with Jessica, her mother and her aunt for the final dress fitting/pick up! I took some great photos, but I promised I wouldn’t spoil the surprise of what her dress looks like until Sunday.

Mark Mlynarski was chatting with Russ and gave him some pre-wedding tips (Mark is a pro having gone through this 3 times with his children!) which Russ really appreciated.

I think the highlight of the day was when Brett opened the bins full of his things from the storage unit we had in El Paso. As he sat there and went through his things with Jessica, showing her his old yearbooks, photos and momentos, I couldn’t help smiling watching the two of them together…..

Good night, everyone 🙂 Sleep well.
