We used to think the roads between Phoenix and Las Vegas had little to offer. Oftentimes, we passed by Kingman, AZ without giving it a second thought other than a place to get gas.
That changed yesterday when we checked out one of the newest Harvest Host sites in the area! We spent the night at the Desert Diamond Distillery and this is definitely a place that we would have never known existed if not for the Harvest Host program.
The distillery is located in an industrial area adjacent to an airport. We thought for sure we would be the only ones visiting this out of the way spot. We were wrong!
There was another couple visiting (they were in a 5th wheel) and 2 large groups were there taking part in the rum ‘flights’. Stacey Forrest, the experience was nothing like the flight we had at Ole Smokey!!
The distillery serves a variety of rum , olive oils and gourmet vanilla extracts. You can also take a tour for $5 per person.
Russ got a margarita and I got a blueberry mojito. We also bought a cranberry pear olive oil and a bottle of Gold Miner Corn Whiskey which has a buttered popcorn flavor to it.
Now for the embarrassing part… we sat down at one of those tables with the big checkerboard and decided to play a game. Except neither one of us could remember exactly how to play without looking up the rules on google!!
